How To Be Successful at Anything, Do Not Quit
To be successful at anything, you must set clear and specific goals, develop a detailed plan to achieve them, stay focused and motivated, and be persistent to overcome obstacles.
It’s also important to surround yourself with a supportive network of friends, family, and mentors.
Remember, success requires hard work, dedication, and a willingness to learn from failures and mistakes. The most important thing is not to quit and have a positive attitude toward your goal.
We all know this version of the plan to achieve success. Allow me to show you how and why you need simple tweaks 10X the success rate.
The Never Quit Mindset
People with the “Never Quit Mindset” gain their strength through commitment, not by emotions and feelings.
The strength gained through emotions and feelings is sporadic and unpredictable.
People with the never-quit mindset do not waiver when feeling good or bad, rain or shine.
Sure, I believe they sometimes feel like giving up, but they never do. They consistently choose to keep going forward.
They seem to find a way to choose happiness. That is also a skill worth learning.
I have found commitment and intentions more powerful than goals. Goals suggest a lengthy process; if something does not go as planned, the process can derail the assumed process.
That is why I love intentions. Intentions suggest a simple intent. When you are having a bad day, your intent may be half-hearted.
Unlike goals, there is no assumed damage to the process. Nothing derailed—just another lousy day.
You start on a clean slate the next day. If you feel better the next day, your intent may yield 10X the results as the day before, and you continue to build on that.
How many times have you set goals and allowed a bad day to derail you for a whole week? You break your diet or miss a workout, and down the joyous rabbit hole you go.
You say I guess I have to start up again next week. We have all been there.
The key to success is to remain unyielding, committed, persistent, focused, and never quit. That is the only way you will live your dreams. Don’t allow anyone to tell you differently.
The Never-Quit Mindset is the key to success. It will almost guarantee success, but it will most likely not be easy and will require many pivots and adjustments along the way. That is where many people fail: They decide to quit.
When one door is closed, try another. When all the doors are closed, start checking the windows.
Never quit until you reach your goals. The ability to adapt and overcome will need to be second nature to you, and the idea of quitting must be unacceptable.
Failure is not an option. Resist thinking or living any other way. Again, success can be very simple and almost impossible simultaneously if all depends on the ability to develop a Never Quit Mindset.
Do not let your circumstances or other people convince you that you can’t do anything. Instead, unleash the Never Quit Mindset on them.
How Not To Give Up
Almost every day, someone will try to convince you to give up or quit something you are trying to achieve. Most of the time, they will be haters who do not have your best interest in mind.
Sometimes, it will be someone who cares about you and has your best interest in mind. Unfortunately, most of the time, you will need to treat them all the same way.
Don’t argue. Tell them you value their opinion and you will need to think about their advice. Then, work even harder toward your intentions.
There will be rare times when the advice to quit holds some merit. That is why you should always be thinking and analyzing. Those are the times you will need to pivot, change strategies, and kick down a few doors but almost never quit.
We all have examples in our lives where someone was striving for the impossible or even a possible dream.
You did not think much of it, but years later, you hear they were successful. Some of us even brag about knowing them when . . .
Strive to be that person for your family or even your whole neighborhood. I wish I knew what I told you now when I was younger.
Success is easy. I cannot believe I am saying that, but SUCCESS IS EASY! First, you have to try, and second, Never Give Up.
Don’t be stupid and keep doing the same thing and failing repeatedly. Again, try something different until success runs its course, rinse and repeat.
Telling yourself you can not give up because you have not yet exhausted all the possibilities. You can’t even think about giving up because you have too much fun solving the many puzzles your unfortunate circumstances have afforded you.
I love to focus on intent rather than goals. Goals mean long term to me, and there can be many ups and downs with anything long-term. It can be not easy to stay hyped and focused long-term constantly
I love to use intentions to help propel me to success. I use them to focus on easy wins and low-hanging fruit and to keep me hyped up for the long haul.
There are times when you will need to take a break from the Never Quit Mindset, and that is OK. No one can be one hundred percent, full tilt, balls to the wall all the time.
Take regular breaks, do the other things you like, and enjoy life.
How To Be Successful
I will repeat it: “Success is easy. All you have to do is never quit”. Some people quit striving to reach their dreams even before they begin.
Others quit after years of hard work, not knowing they were inches away from success.
Will you be one of these people one day? Let’s make sure that will NEVER happen. Make yourself these promises: NEVER QUIT! Never give up, and never allow fear or negative thoughts to stand in the way of your desired success.
No matter how hard your circumstances get, remember to put one foot in front of the other and keep moving forward. Enjoy the good times as well as the bad times.
OK, I will admit it is much easier said than done. You have to do something; why not be successful? You will find almost every successful person you admire took ten years to become an overnight success.
I have never verified an overnight success. I have heard of many, but after some research, I have learned that it usually takes a minimum of 10 years for them to succeed.
Please prove me wrong.
Correct me in the comments below. There is no such thing as an overnight success.
It would be best to treat becoming successful like The United States Marines treat every mission.
If you don’t know, the United States Marines are considered one of the best-fighting armed forces.
I know their mission dictates that EVERYONE must be a rifleman and able to fight.
EVERYONE!
The United States Marines and many other Elite Forces are motivated by the prospect of being dropped off in enemy territory for battle.
Yeah! DROPPED OFF! There is no retreat or losing and fighting another day.
They are dropped off, and their ride will leave to return to safety. You must succeed or perish. That is the way you must treat success. In many cases, you have to burn your safety boats.
There can not be a safety net or a plan “B” to rely on. Without safety nets, plan Bs, and escape boats, you may not be as hard-charging** toward success.
After your initial try, you will save a step and decide if times are hard enough. You will pivot to plan “B” or quit because those exit strategies exist.
You have to treat striving for success like the young Marine storming the beach, one hundred percent fully engaged in the mission.
When faced with almost impossible odds, he thinks about the safety boats, the ships he came in, as a possible safe haven.
Only to turn around and see nothing but a crowded beach, a blue ocean,* and maybe a few seagulls floating in the water.
He is cured of his need to look back or quit. It’s not an option or even a possibility. I have burned all the boats once in my life to eliminate the possibility of returning and ensure success.
I will let you know how it goes. It’s looking good!
Conclusion
Everyone knows the secret to success is to never give up. The problem is that many of us believe we can be overnight successes. They cancel themselves out in most cases.
The truth is we know the steps to become successful we don’t realize what it takes.
This following sentence will change your life. Here it is. Whatever you believe it takes to become successful, 10X it!
This means we lowball the efforts it takes to be successful and make the story more appealing. Even the so-called overnight success knows it is a lie because they lived it, but they stick to the lie because it sounds good.
It will always take ten times what you initially believed. This is why the burning your boat technique is so successful.
Like the young Marine who turns around during the most trying time of a mission to realize that the boats that dropped them off are leaving the area and heading for safety as planned. It was part of the training.
There’s something about seeing it happen now that makes it real. It’s time for the training to kick* in. He instantly 10X his effort, knowing there is no retreat and failure is not an option.
I have found that to be successful, you must burn your boats, jettison any plan B, and believe failure is not an option. To be successful, do not quit!
EVER!
