Keep Going Daily and Stop Underestimating What You Can Do In A Day
The ability to keep going daily is a major contributing component to success and happiness. I read somewhere that “most people overestimate what they can do in a year and underestimate what they can do in a day”. I think that was the quote or something like it. LOL.
What do you think about that saying?
I find it to be so true. Often people plan long-term goals only to be overwhelmed and quit shortly after beginning. Their plans look great in their minds and on paper but again people tend to “overestimate what they can do in a year”.
The other part of that statement is also true and it compliments the first half. It can actually reverse all ill effects of the first half. Let me show you how.
To quit when you have bitten off more than you can chew may seem to be the right thing to do but should be avoided. Just save some for “leftovers” and keep going daily.
Remember people also tend to “Underestimate What They Can Do in a Day“.
Keep Going Daily, Daily
What you can accomplish in a day to reach a goal can be extraordinary also. This should never be underestimated. Many people believe this means you should overwork and reach your goal in a few days.
Neglect family, friends, and many things that are important to them. You should never make that mistake.
A goal that requires you to neglect health, family, friends, and many of the things that are important to you may not be the goal a person should pursue.
The key to happiness in life involves enjoying strong relationships with those same people and should be a source of motivation and not viewed as an obstacle to success and happiness.
You may feel desperate and believe an opportunity that may cause you to neglect health, family, friends and many of the things that are important may pay off in the end.
It may but the wake of devastating relationships with children, family, and friends left behind will prove to be a poor tradeoff.
I will almost always guarantee there is a better way. That way maybe what you are currently doing may seem inadequate, just keep going daily.
If the fear of missing out begins to creep in along the way, just hold your loved ones a little tighter and it will pass. Success is not far away.
You may overestimate what you can do in a year and begin to feel overwhelmed but that is ok too. Just keep going daily and be closer to reaching your goals. Never underestimate what you can do in a day.
If you put the blinders on and do the best you can do for each given day without overthinking your situation, you can reach that overestimated overwhelming goal in time.
When you shoot for the moon and fail it still leaves you among the stars! To keep going daily is the key to success and happiness. Please don’t take the advice to keep going daily too literally.
This can lead to suffering common mistakes that will be discussed next.
Slow Dow, Embrace The Power of Time
How do you eat an Elephant? One bite at a time. LOL. Slow and steady wins the race. Sure we all have overestimated our ability to complete a task in a timely matter.
So what! Of course, 1 year seemed like enough time. It always does. LOL.
Sure I can get that advanced degree. Yes, I will complete that training. Sure I will lose the weight. Sure I will be in a better place by then. You probably have completed goals like those many times already and took longer than you estimated to complete them.
It was hard and probably sucked at times. The next time will be better because you are going to ENJOY the suck. Really you are.
You are going to know it may have taken longer or you may have had to change your route from the original because you wisely put what is truly important first.
Yeah, they (the truly important ones) may suck also and cause problems along the way but you would not trade them for anything in the world.
There is nothing like great relationships with good friends and family. Keep going daily the right way for them. They will reward you with support and motivation to succeed and be the best you can be.
Learn to be relentless and keep going daily. A “Day” is a powerful and precious fit. Days turn into weeks.
Weeks turn into months. Months turn into years and years turn into a life. Yeah, days are powerful and precious.
Be very careful. “How we spend our days is, of course, how we spend our lives.” – Annie Dillard.
