How To Be Successful at Anything, Do Not Quit
To be successful at anything, you must set clear and specific goals, develop a detailed plan to achieve them, stay focused and motivated, and persist in overcoming obstacles.
It’s also important to surround yourself with a supportive network of friends, family, and mentors.
Remember, success always requires hard work, dedication, and a willingness to learn from failures and mistakes. The most important is to do not quit and have a positive attitude towards your ‘goal.
We are all familiar with this version of the plan for achieving success. Allow me to show you how and why simple tweaks can 10X your success rate.
The Never Quit Mindset
People with the “Never Quit Mindset” gain their strength through commitment, rather than relying on emotions and feelings.
The strength gained through emotions and feelings is sporadic and unpredictable.
People with the never-quit mindset do not waver, regardless of whether they feel good or bad, or whether it’s raining or shining.
Sure, I believe there are times they feel like giving up, but they never do. They always choose to keep going forward.
They seem to find a way to choose happiness. That is also a skill worth learning.
I have found that commitment and intentions are more powerful than goals. Goals suggest a lengthy process, and if something does not go as planned, the process can derail.
That is why I love intentions. Intentions suggest a simple intent. When you are having a bad day, your intent may be half-hearted that day.
Unlike goals, there is no assumed damage to the process. Nothing derailed—just another bad day.
You start on a clean slate the next day. If you feel better the next day, your intent may yield 10 times the results as the day before, and you can continue to build on that.
How many times have you set goals and allowed a bad day to derail you for a whole week? You break your diet or miss a workout, and down the joyous rabbit hole you go.
You say I guess I have to start up again next week. We have all been there.
The simple key to success is to remain unyielding, committed, persistent, focused, and never quit. That is the only way you will live your dreams. Don’t allow anyone to tell you differently.
The Never Quit Mindset is the key to success. The Never Quit Mindset will almost guarantee success, but it most likely will not be easy and will require many pivots and adjustments along the way. That is where many people fail. They decide to quit.
When one door is closed, try another. When you find all the doors closed, start checking the windows.
Never quit until you reach the place you dream of being. The ability to adapt and overcome will need to be second nature to you, and the idea of quitting needs to be unacceptable.
Failure is not an option. Resist the temptation to think or live any other way. Success can be both simple and almost impossible at the same time. It all depends on developing a Never Quit Mindset.
Do not allow your circumstances or other people to convince you that you can’t do anything. Unleash the Never Quit Mindset on them.
How Not To Give Up
Almost every day, someone will try to convince you to give up or quit something you are trying to achieve. Most of the time, they will be haters and not have your best interests in mind.
Sometimes it will be someone who actually cares about you and has your best interests in mind—unfortunately, most of the time you will need to treat them all the same way.
Don’t argue. Tell them you value their opinion and that you will need to consider their advice, then work even harder towards your intentions.
There will be rare times when the advice to quit will hold some merit. That is why you should always be thinking and analyzing because those are the times you will need to pivot, change strategies, and kick down a few doors, but seldom quit.
We all have examples in our lives where someone was striving for the impossible or even a seemingly impossible dream.
You didn’t think much of it, but years later, you hear that they were successful. Some of us even brag about knowing them when…
Strive to be that person for your family or even your whole neighborhood. I wish I knew what I told you now when I was younger.
Success is actually easy. I cannot believe I am saying that, but SUCCESS IS EASY! First, you actually have to try, and second, Never Give Up.
Don’t be stubborn and keep doing the same thing, failing over and over again. Again, try something different until success runs its course, rinse and repeat.
Telling yourself you cannot give up because you have not exhausted all the possibilities yet. You can’t even think about giving up because you are having too much fun solving the many puzzles your unfortunate circumstances have afforded you.
I love to focus on intent rather than goals. Goals mean long-term to me, and there can be many ups and downs with anything long-term. It can be challenging to stay motivated and focused in the long term.
I love using intentions to help propel me toward success. I use it to focus on easy wins and low-hanging fruit, and to keep me motivated for the long haul.
There are times you will need to take a break from the Never Quit Mindset, and that is OK. No one can be one hundred percent, full tilt, balls to the wall, all of the time.
Take regular breaks, engage in other activities you enjoy, and make the most of life.
How To Be Successful
I am going to repeat it, “Success is easy. All you have to do is never quit”. Some people quit striving to reach their dreams even before they begin.
Others quit after years of hard work, unaware that they were just inches away from success.
Will you be one of these people one day? Let’s make sure that will NEVER happen. Make yourself these promises. NEVER QUIT! Never give up, never allow fear or negative thoughts to stand in the way of your desired success.
No matter how difficult your circumstances become, remember to take one step at a time and keep moving forward. Enjoy both the good times and the bad times.
OK, I will admit it is much easier said than done. You have to do something, why not be successful? You will find that almost every successful person you admire took ten years to become an overnight success.
I have never verified an overnight success. I have heard of many, but after conducting some research, it usually takes a minimum of 10 years for them to become successful.
Please prove me wrong.
Correct me in the comments below. There is no such thing as an overnight success.
You have to treat becoming successful like the United States Marines treat every mission.
If you don’t know it, the United States Marines are considered one of the best fighting armed forces.
I know their mission dictates that EVERYONE must be a rifleman and able to fight.
EVERYONE!
The United States Marines and many other Elite Forces’ motivating factor is that they will be dropped off in enemy territory for battle.
Yeah! DROPPED OFF! There is no retreat, no losing, and no fighting another day.
They are dropped off, and their ride will leave to head back to safety. You must succeed or perish. That is the way you must treat success. In many cases, you have to burn your safety boats.
There can not be a safety net or a plan “B” to rely on. When there are safety nets, Plan Bs, and escape routes, you may not be as hard-charging towards success.
You will save a step after your initial try, and decide if times are hard enough, you will pivot to plan “B” or quit because those exit strategies exist.
You have to treat striving for success like the young Marine storming the beach, fully engaged in the mission, one hundred percent committed.
When faced with almost impossible odds, he thinks about the safety boats, the ships he came in, and a possible haven.
Only to turn around and see nothing but a crowded beach, a blue ocean,* and maybe a few seagulls floating in the water. Like you, his only salvation is forward.
He is cured of his need to look back or quit. It’s not an option, nor is it a possibility. I have burned all of the boats once in my life to eliminate the possibility of going back and to ensure success.
I will let you know how it goes. It’s looking good!
Conclusion
Everyone knows the secret to success is never to give up, never to quit. The problem is that many of us believe there is a possibility of being an overnight success. They cancel themselves* out in most cases.
The truth of the matter is, we know the steps to become successful, but we don’t realize what it takes.
The following sentence will change your life. Here it is. Whatever it takes to become successful, 10X it!
Meaning we lowball the efforts it takes to be successful to make the story more appealing. Even the so-called overnight success knows it is a lie because they lived it, but they stick to the lie because it sounds good.
It will always take 10 times what you initially believe. This is why the burning your boat technique is so successful.
Like the young Marine who turns around during the most trying time of a mission to realize the boats that dropped them off are leaving the area and heading for safety as planned, it was part of the training.
It’s something about seeing it happen now that makes it real. Time for the training to kick* in. He instantly 10X his effort, knowing there is no retreat and failure is not an option.
I have found to be successful, burn your boats, jettison any plan B, and believe failure is not an option. To be successful, do not quit!
EVER!
